SL 578 GLS PRO-FIT WIDE FIT BLK RH

Description

The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit in the Wide configuration is built for shooters who carry a full-size or wide-frame pistol and want retention they can trust without having to learn an unfamiliar draw stroke. It fits the wide standard frame size class, covering pistols like the Sig Sauer P320 Compact and Carry, the P229R, and the Springfield XD, among others — all from a single adjustable holster body that can be tuned to securely accommodate over 60 different firearms.

The core of the design is the Grip Lock System. When the pistol is holstered, it locks automatically with no manual step required. To draw, the middle finger presses the release tab as part of a natural shooting grip — the same motion a trained shooter’s hand makes on the way to the trigger. The release happens during the draw, not before it, which keeps the weapon secured until the moment it is actually needed.

The holster body is molded from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary nylon blend. The material is non-abrasive against a pistol’s finish, which matters for anyone who holsters and draws repeatedly during practice. It also handles temperature extremes without becoming brittle in cold or deforming in heat, and it does not require the same break-in period that leather demands.

Mounting is flexible. The package includes both an injection-molded paddle and a belt loop, and the belt loop adjusts to allow cross-draw positioning if that suits your carry setup. The attachment hardware accommodates belts from 1.5 to 1.75 inches wide. Draw is configured for right-hand use.
