Description
The Safariland 6360RDS is a duty holster built for officers and armed professionals who run red-dot-equipped pistols and need retention they can trust under stress. The core of the design pairs two independent retention systems: the ALS (Automatic Locking System) locks the firearm in every direction the moment it seats in the holster, while the SLS rotating hood adds a second layer of active security on top of that. Both release sequentially with a practiced thumb movement, allowing a straight-up draw with no cant or twist required — which matters when fine motor control degrades under adrenaline.
The hood itself is cut to clear red dot sights, which is the reason this model exists as a distinct product line. A standard duty holster hood bridges across the optic footprint and prevents proper seating; the RDS geometry accommodates the added height and profile without compromising the retention geometry.
The shell is constructed from SafariLaminate with a STX Tactical finish — a hard outer skin that is heat-laminated and molded to the specific firearm and light combination, in this case the Glock 34 or 35 paired with a SureFire X300U or TLR-1. That forming process means the retention fit comes from the shell geometry itself rather than adjustable friction screws alone. The interior is suede-lined to protect the pistol’s finish during repeated holstering. The STX finish resists water and sweat absorption, and cleans with soap and water or Armor All. The mid-ride belt attachment positions the grip at a height that works for most duty belts without the holster riding as high as a standard loop mount, improving comfort during extended wear.
