The Safariland Schema is built for everyday concealed carry — specifically for shooters who want a reliable inside-the-waistband option that doesn’t add unnecessary bulk. Its skeletonized body trims material where it isn’t needed, which keeps the holster’s footprint smaller than a solid-shell design and lets it sit closer to the body for better concealment under a cover garment.

Retention is handled passively through an integrated trigger guard mechanism, meaning the firearm stays put without any lever or button to engage during the draw. That simplicity is a deliberate trade-off: you give up the audible click of an active retention device in exchange for a faster, cleaner draw stroke. Trigger shields are built into the design to prevent contact with the trigger during the draw and while the firearm is holstered, adding a layer of passive safety without complicating the rig.

The reinforced mouth is worth noting for IWB holsters specifically — reholstering one-handed while the holster is worn on the body is genuinely difficult with a soft or collapsing mouth, and this design keeps it open. Cant and ride height are both adjustable, so you can dial in the angle that works for your body type and carry position rather than accepting a fixed geometry. The Schema accommodates a range of miniature red dot optics, including the Romeo Zero, RMR CC, Shield RMS and RMS-C, Holosun 407K and 507K, Hex Wasp, Swampfox Sentinel, J-Point, and Crimson Trace 1550. Standard-height sights are supported; suppressor-height sights are not. This variant is configured for right-hand draw.
