The Safariland Schema is built for concealed carry of the Smith & Wesson Shield and Shield Plus, and it suits anyone who wants a purpose-designed inside-the-waistband holster rather than a generic one-size-fits-most solution. The firearm-specific fit means the holster indexes your pistol the same way every draw, which matters more under stress than it does at the range.

The skeletonized body does two things at once: it cuts bulk so the holster prints less against clothing, and it reduces the material pressing against your body during all-day wear. That smaller footprint is the core trade-off of the Schema’s design — you give up the full coverage of a traditional leather IWB holster, but you gain a significantly lower profile that is easier to dress around.

Passive trigger guard retention holds the pistol securely without requiring a mechanical release, which keeps the draw stroke simple and consistent. The reinforced mouth is worth noting for practical carry: it allows you to reholster one-handed while the holster is still on your body, so you are not fishing a collapsed shell back onto your belt after every draw. Adjustable cant and ride height let you dial in the angle and depth that works for your build and preferred carry position.

The Schema is optic-compatible and clears the Romeo Zero, RMR CC, Shield RMS, Shield RMS-C, Swampfox Sentinel, Hex Wasp, Holosun 407K, Holosun 507K, J-Point, and Crimson Trace 1550, among similar footprints. It does not accommodate suppressor-height sights, so if your Shield runs those, the standard sight channel will not provide clearance. This version is configured for right-hand draw.
