Description

The Safariland Species is built for concealed carriers who want a slim, no-frills inside-the-waistband holster sized for the Glock 43 and 43X. Its construction pairs a Cordura exterior wrap with SafariLaminate thermal-molded inner shell — the laminate layer is shaped precisely to the pistol’s contours, which is what gives passive trigger guard retention its positive click without relying on adjustable straps or mechanical locks. Retention tension can still be tuned to preference, so the draw weight isn’t fixed from the factory.

The mounting clip is fully cantable and adjustable for ride height, which matters for appendix carry in particular: small changes in cant angle can meaningfully affect draw speed and comfort when seated. The clip is sized for belts up to 1.5 inches wide, covering most standard carry belts without requiring a dedicated mount. The holster ships in a right-hand draw configuration with a black Cordura finish.

The Species is also optic-ready, with a sight channel cut to clear standard-height iron sights and a shell geometry that accommodates compact red dot sights — including the Romeo Zero, RMR CC, Shield RMS, and Holosun 407K/507K footprints — without requiring a separate adapter. For Glock 43/43X owners running one of those optics, that eliminates the common frustration of finding that an otherwise well-fitted holster won’t close over the sight. The overall profile stays thin enough for appendix or strong-side carry under a cover garment without creating a noticeable print.
