Description
The Safariland Species is an inside-the-waistband holster built around the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro, aimed at concealed carriers who want a purpose-fitted option rather than a generic shell. The body is constructed from SafariLaminate, a thermally molded material that holds its shape under daily carry stresses while keeping the profile slim enough for waistband use without excessive printing.
Retention is handled passively through the trigger guard, which means the firearm locks in on draw and releases cleanly without levers or buttons to manipulate under pressure — a meaningful trade-off for those who prioritize a clean, unobstructed draw stroke. Where a passive system trades adjustability for simplicity, the Species adds an adaptable tension device so the resistance can be dialed to personal preference without requiring tools or gunsmithing knowledge.
The mounting clip is fully cantable and vertically adjustable, which matters because carry angle and ride height affect both comfort and draw consistency. Getting those two variables right for your body and clothing is what separates a holster you actually wear from one that sits in a drawer. The clip is sized for standard 1.5-inch belts, which covers most purpose-built carry belts without needing an adapter.
The Species is also cut to clear common micro red dots — including the Romeo Zero, RMR CC, Shield RMS, and Holosun 407K/507K — so the holster does not become obsolete if you add an optic to the pistol. This is a right-hand draw configuration finished in Black with Cordura wrap construction.
