Description
The Safariland 6354RDS is a duty holster built around the Glock 17 MOS fitted with a SureFire X300U weaponlight, and it is designed specifically for left-handed carriers who need a secure, optic-compatible solution in a patrol or tactical role. The holster accommodates the raised profile of a red dot sight on a MOS slide without requiring adapters or shimming — the retention geometry is molded to that exact combination from the start, so the fit is specific rather than approximate.
Construction uses a Cordura outer shell over a laminate backer, which keeps the holster relatively light while providing the structure needed to support one-handed re-holstering under stress. The Coyote Brown finish is Safariland’s own designation for this colorway, and it suits both plain-clothes and uniformed setups where a flat earth tone is preferred over black.
Retention on the 6354RDS is handled by Safariland’s ALS — Automatic Locking System — which secures the pistol at the trigger guard automatically when holstered. Release is a thumb-actuated lever that sweeps naturally during a firing grip, allowing a smooth draw without a secondary step to disengage retention. Because the ALS indexes off the trigger guard rather than the muzzle or slide, the retention mechanism works correctly even with the added bulk of the X300U mounted beneath the rail.
This holster is a purpose-built tool for a specific gun-and-light combination, not a universal fit adjusted with spacers. If you run a Glock 17 MOS with an X300U and carry left-handed, the 6354RDS eliminates the compromises that come with holsters that try to fit several configurations at once.
