The H6Xi is Steiner’s answer to a specific problem: hunters and precision shooters who want a riflescope built to the mechanical standard of a tactical optic without the compromises that usually come with crossing those two categories. It draws directly from the DNA of the T6Xi line, which means the underlying engineering priorities—durability, repeatability, optical fidelity under stress—carry over into a package sized and featured for field use.

The tube is machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum, a material choice that keeps weight down while giving the body enough structural integrity to handle recoil and hard field use without affecting zero. Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction means the scope functions in the kind of weather conditions that end hunts early for less prepared shooters.

The first focal plane placement of the MHR reticle is the central mechanical decision here. Because the reticle scales with the image as you change power, every hash mark and holdover reference on the MHR remains accurate at any point across the 3–18x range—not just at maximum magnification. At lower power, the MHR reads as clean duplex crosshairs for fast target acquisition in close cover. Dial up the magnification, and the reticle’s wind and elevation references become usable for genuine long-range correction. The illumination is there specifically for that zoomed-in work, giving the shooter a visible aiming point under low-contrast conditions against dark backgrounds or in failing light. The 50mm objective supports light transmission at those higher magnifications, where the exit pupil would otherwise become a limiting factor in dim conditions.
