Description

The Steiner MPS-C is a slide-mounted red dot built for slimline and subcompact pistols—the kind of carry guns where size and weight on the slide matter as much as optical performance. It follows the same design philosophy as the original MPS but fits the RMSc footprint, which integrates directly with a wide range of modern pistol slides without adapter plates or custom milling.

The enclosed emitter housing is fully sealed against dust, moisture, and debris—a meaningful distinction from open-emitter designs where a single piece of grit can land on the LED and obscure the dot. The hard-anodized Class III aluminum construction keeps that protection intact without adding bulk; the optic weighs 32 grams, which reduces reciprocating mass compared to heavier alternatives and supports faster return to target after each shot.

The 1.6 MOA dot sits at a size that balances two competing demands: fine enough to allow precise shot placement at longer handgun distances, but large enough to find quickly in a close-range, high-stress draw. Motion-sensing shake-awake technology activates the optic when the pistol moves and lets it rest when holstered, extending battery life without requiring the shooter to manage power manually. For those who prefer a fixed-on state, the optic also supports always-on operation and a 13-hour auto-shutoff mode—three distinct power management options from a single CR1632 battery. Twelve brightness steps, including two night-vision-compatible settings, cover both indoor and full-sun conditions. At 50 MOA of total windage and elevation travel with 1 MOA per click adjustments, there is sufficient range to zero across a variety of host pistols and distances.
