Description

The Steiner MPS is built for shooters who want a purpose-designed pistol red dot rather than a rifle optic adapted to a handgun. Steiner engineered it around the ACRO footprint, so it drops onto any optic-ready pistol that accepts an ACRO-pattern plate—no proprietary slide cut required, and a wide range of adapter plates from makers like American Defense Manufacturing, Reptilia, and Unity Tactical cover most popular platforms.

The all-metal housing does real work here. Enhanced side walls completely enclose the emitter, and a recessed front window sits behind a metal hood that physically prevents contact with the lens. That construction also makes the emitter water-pressure tight, so the sight can handle rain, submersion, and the kind of abuse that destroys lighter-duty optics with polymer housings. At 2.05 oz the added protection doesn’t come at a meaningful weight cost for a defensive pistol setup.

The 3.3 MOA dot is sized to be picked up fast at typical handgun distances without obscuring a distant target. Eight manual brightness levels include two night-vision-compatible modes, all controlled by a single raised button on the side of the housing—accessible without breaking grip. Battery life is rated at 13,000 hours at medium brightness, and the compartment is designed so you can swap the CR1632 cell without removing the optic from the pistol. A flashing indicator signals low battery before it becomes a problem. The sight is parallax-free from 10 to 150 meters, meaning point of aim stays consistent regardless of exact eye position behind the optic—a meaningful advantage during the unsupported, dynamic shooting positions common in real-world use.
