Description
The Steiner P Series 34mm QD Mount is built for shooters who need to move optics between platforms quickly without going back to the range every time they do it. The quick-disconnect system lets you pull the mount and reinstall it without losing your zero — a meaningful capability when a scope needs to come off for transport, storage, or a transition to iron sights, and then go straight back to work.
The mount is machined from heat-treated aluminum and finished in a black anodize, which handles corrosion and surface wear without adding meaningful weight. The one-piece construction eliminates the alignment variables that come with two-ring systems — the scope tube sits in a single machined cradle, so ring-to-ring cant and offset aren’t factors you have to manage during installation.
The 34mm tube diameter accommodates the larger main tubes found on modern long-range and tactical scopes, where manufacturers use the extra interior volume for wider erector travel and more adjustment range. This mount locks onto a Picatinny rail, which is the standard cross-slot interface on most modern MSRs and precision bolt guns, so compatibility across a typical rack of rifles is straightforward.
The QD lever design prioritizes speed over the precision-screw approach used on traditional rings, which suits a dedicated patrol or duty rifle where the optic may need to come off and return to battery under time pressure. If your use case is a bench rifle that rarely loses its optic, the added mechanism isn’t necessary — but for anything that moves around, the repeatability built into this system justifies it.
