Description

The Strike Industries Sidewinder II is a backup iron sight system built for shooters who run a primary optic and want a reliable secondary sighting option without removing anything from the rail. The core idea is straightforward: the sights mount at 45 degrees offset from the bore axis, so transitioning from a magnified optic or red dot to iron sights is a matter of rotating the rifle rather than swapping equipment. That geometry keeps both sighting systems on the gun simultaneously, which matters when target distance changes quickly or a primary optic fails mid-use.

The Sidewinder II is also capable of inline mounting, meaning it can function as a conventional set of iron sights when the offset configuration is not needed. That flexibility makes it useful across a wider range of builds and shooting contexts without requiring a dedicated rail section for each role. Windage and elevation adjustments are made via a large, textured dial that can be operated with gloved hands, which reflects its design intent for field use rather than purely range work.

Construction uses a combination of aluminum and steel, with the low-profile SI-Ambush mount securing the unit to MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and STANAG 4694 rails. The reinforced design was updated in the second generation following feedback aimed at improving durability with larger calibers and in harsher operating environments compared to the original Sidewinder.
