Description
The SureFire XR2 is built for concealed-carry pistols and compact handguns where most weapon lights are simply too large to be practical. Its short overall length means it clears holsters designed for minimalist setups without the nose-heavy bulk that comes with full-size lights, making it a sensible choice for shooters who need a capable light on a gun they actually carry rather than one that stays on a range bench.
At 800 lumens, the white LED output is enough to overwhelm a subject’s night-adapted vision and provide genuine target identification at handgun engagement distances. SureFire routes that output through parabolic reflectors, which produce a rounded beam suited to close-quarters situational awareness rather than a tight hotspot optimized for distance. The ambidextrous switches support both momentary and constant-on activation, so the light can be indexed without committing to a sustained signature — useful when you need a quick assessment rather than continuous illumination.
The integrated red laser adds a secondary aiming reference that functions independently of the white LED, giving the shooter the option to use either or both depending on conditions. Because the laser is built into the body rather than added as a separate module, it does not increase the overall footprint or shift the weight distribution relative to running the light alone.
Power comes from an integrated rechargeable lithium polymer cell, eliminating the need to carry spare batteries or break down the unit to replace them. The body is machined aluminum with a mil-spec hard-anodized finish in black, which provides corrosion resistance and a surface durable enough for regular holster use. The XR2 mounts to any M1913 Picatinny rail, covering the broad range of modern defensive handguns that use that standard.
