Description
The SOCOM762-Ti2 in Dark Earth is built specifically for 7.62 mm and .308-caliber bolt-action rifles, targeting hunters and long-range precision shooters who need to shave every possible ounce without sacrificing durability or accuracy. Titanium alloy construction is what makes that balance achievable — the material carries the structural demands of sustained suppressor use while keeping the finished weight at 11 ounces, light enough that muzzle-heavy handling characteristics remain largely unchanged from an unsuppressed configuration.
Inside, the baffle stack is produced through Direct Metal Laser Sintering, a manufacturing process that grows metal geometry layer by layer from a digital model rather than machining it from billet. For a suppressor, this matters because baffle-to-baffle alignment is a direct contributor to both sound attenuation consistency and bore clearance safety. The V-shaped baffle profile is optimized for sound reduction, and SureFire’s internal venting system distributes propellant gases more evenly as the projectile clears the muzzle, which reduces the pressure spike that can disturb a projectile’s exit trajectory on precision rifles.
SureFire’s Total Signature Reduction technology addresses more than just decibel level — it targets first-round flash, which is caused by unburned propellant igniting at the muzzle and can compromise shooter position in low-light conditions. The DLC and Cerakote finish on the body provides corrosion and abrasion resistance suited to field use, in the Dark Earth color option. Attachment uses SureFire’s tool-less Fast-Attach system, which relies on precision-machined adapters with multiple bearing surfaces to secure the suppressor without requiring a wrench or timing procedure. Removal is equally straightforward, keeping transition time minimal in the field.
