Description
The SureFire SF3P is a dual-purpose muzzle device: a capable standalone flash hider and a purpose-built mounting adapter for SureFire SOCOM Series Fast-Attach suppressors. Shooters running 7.62mm rifles who anticipate adding a suppressor later — or who rotate one between multiple hosts — will find the SF3P a logical starting point rather than an afterthought.
The three-prong geometry breaks up and disperses propellant gases at the muzzle, reducing visible flash by more than 99% compared to a bare muzzle. That figure matters most in low-light environments where a large flash signature gives away a position and temporarily degrades the shooter’s night vision. The design also keeps the tines from producing an audible ring inside the suppressor bore — a problem that arises when a flash hider is not engineered with suppressor use in mind.
The mounting interface does more than just thread on. Multiple bearing surfaces distribute the suppressor’s load evenly and maintain consistent alignment, which is critical for preventing baffle strikes as pressures cycle. A rear labyrinth seal reduces carbon migration into the indexing system, so the suppressor remains removable after extended firing rather than carbon-welding itself in place. Installation requires no permanent modification to the host weapon on most platforms.
SureFire machines the SF3P from U.S. mill-certified, heat-treated stainless steel bar stock, then applies a black Ionbond DLC coating that resists erosion from hot propellant gases and simplifies cleaning after hard use. Threads are single-point cut for a precise fit on the 5/8″-24 muzzle. Every unit is individually checked for concentricity and alignment before leaving the factory — a step that matters because a canted mounting surface translates directly into suppressor misalignment downrange. Includes shims and Rocksett for proper timing and installation.
