Description
The SureFire X400 Turbo is a combined weapon light and green laser aiming device built for handguns, designed for law enforcement, military, and serious defensive use where positive target identification and rapid aiming under stress are both required at the same time. Having white light and a laser in a single rail-mounted unit matters because it eliminates the trade-off between using a light and using an aiming aid — both are always where the gun is pointed.
The white light output is shaped by a Total Internal Reflection lens rather than a conventional reflector. A TIR lens collimates the LED’s output into a tighter, more coherent beam with meaningful reach downrange while still producing enough spill light around the hotspot to maintain peripheral awareness — useful in dynamic environments where threats are not always directly in front of the muzzle. The result is a beam character better suited to medium-range work than a wide flood.
The green laser sits below the primary light and runs at 5 milliwatts. Green wavelengths are more readily perceived by the human eye in daylight conditions than red at equivalent power, which extends the practical working distance of the aiming dot in outdoor or well-lit indoor environments. Windage and elevation adjustments are locked with Nylok fasteners, a meaningful construction detail — standard screws can back out incrementally under repeated recoil, which gradually walks the zero without obvious indication. The Nylok design resists that drift.
The rail clamp accepts both Picatinny and Universal rail formats via included adapters, and the control layout is compatible with optional remote switches for long-gun or alternative handgun configurations. The housing combines aerospace aluminum with impact-resistant polymer, and the light is O-ring and gasket sealed against the elements. Two CR123A lithium batteries power both the light and laser.
