Description

The Timney Alpha Competition trigger is built for Glock Gen 5 large-frame pistols — the 20, 21, 29, 30, 40, and 41 — and is aimed at competitive shooters and serious range shooters who want a cleaner, lighter pull without sending their pistol to a gunsmith. The factory Glock trigger is functional and durable, but its reset and break are deliberately conservative. This drop-in replacement addresses both without requiring any modification to the pistol’s existing springs or structural components.

The trigger bar and sear receive an NP3 coating — a Teflon Nickel finish applied through an electroless plating process — which reduces friction between moving surfaces without relying on lubricant alone. That matters in a trigger system because surface-to-surface contact directly affects how predictably the sear releases under pressure. The result is a break that stays consistent across a longer string of fire rather than varying as heat and fouling build up.

The shoe itself is machined aluminum with a pivoting safety blade that replicates the function of the factory Glock trigger safety. That means the pistol’s passive drop safety remains intact — the trigger will not actuate unless the blade is depressed first, exactly as the original design intended. The approximately 3 lb pull weight sits well below the standard Glock factory pull, which has a practical effect on split times and muzzle disturbance during the trigger press. The straight profile, as opposed to a curved shoe, shifts the mechanical advantage point on the trigger face and tends to suit shooters who prefer a consistent contact point across different grip pressures. Installation uses the pistol’s existing components and requires no permanent alterations.
