The TriggerTech Competitive is built for AR-15 shooters who need a reliable, drop-in two-stage trigger for precision and speed work — 3-gun competition being the obvious home, though it suits anyone whose standard mil-spec trigger is the weakest link in their setup.

The core of what TriggerTech does differently is Frictionless Release Technology (FRT). A conventional trigger relies on two surfaces sliding against each other at the moment of release, which means friction, inconsistency, and wear are all baked into how the shot breaks. FRT replaces that sliding engagement with a pivot-based release, so the sear motion at the break point generates no friction at the critical moment. The practical result is that creep at the wall is genuinely zero, and pull weights stay consistent over extended round counts without requiring polishing or lubrication of the engagement surfaces to maintain them.

The two-stage configuration gives you a defined first stage to take up before reaching the wall, which helps with trigger control under time pressure — you can pre-load the first stage during target acquisition without the risk of breaking the shot early. The second stage then releases cleanly with no additional movement. TKR (Trigger Return) and FLTWR (Flat Weight Return) technologies contribute to a consistent, tactile mid-force reset that resets reliably without requiring the shooter to ride the trigger forward.

The housing is machined from 7075 aluminum with a hard coat anodized finish, and the internal components are 440C stainless steel — a grade chosen for corrosion resistance and hardness. The flat-face lever is finished in natural stainless. This unit uses standard mil-spec 0.154-inch pins, so it drops into any standard AR-15 lower without modification.
