The TriggerTech AR-15 Duty trigger is built around a specific operational profile: close-quarters use, adverse conditions, and the kind of sustained, high-repetition work that comes with law enforcement, military service, and competitive shooting. It is not a bench-rest trigger dressed up in tactical language — the design priorities are deliberately different, and understanding those trade-offs matters before you install it.

The single-stage action uses TriggerTech’s Zero Creep technology, which eliminates the initial take-up travel you feel in a standard mil-spec trigger before the break. The sear surfaces are machined from 440C stainless steel, a material chosen for its hardness and corrosion resistance, and the exterior components receive a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) black coating rather than a painted or anodized finish — PVD bonds at the molecular level and holds up under the kind of abrasion and chemical exposure that field use produces. The housing is EZAC diecast, which keeps weight down while maintaining the dimensional consistency a drop-in unit requires.

Where this trigger diverges from TriggerTech’s competition-oriented offerings is in its reset characteristics. The Duty line is tuned for a more forceful, tactile reset with a longer reset travel than a match trigger would carry. That design choice reduces the chance of a shooter riding the reset too far forward and failing to re-engage under stress — a meaningful consideration in the contexts this trigger is built for. The fixed 5.5 lb break weight is not adjustable by design, providing consistency across service life without the risk of field adjustments drifting the pull out of a safe range. It installs using standard 0.154-inch mil-spec trigger pins, which are not included.
