Description
The TriggerTech Rough Diamond is a drop-in single-stage trigger built for precision bolt-gun shooters who want the crisp, creep-free break of TriggerTech’s Diamond line without the accompanying price. Where the original Diamond was engineered around ultra-light pull weights that most competitors rarely dial in during a match, the Rough Diamond shifts the adjustment range to span from under 8 ounces up to 40 ounces — a window that covers the practical needs of most precision rifle disciplines while keeping the system mechanically robust across the full range.
The trigger uses TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology, which replaces the traditional sear-on-sear sliding contact with a rotating pivot. Because there is no sliding friction in the release, the break is consistent pull-to-pull without the creep that sliding sear surfaces typically produce as they wear. That consistency matters more at light pull weights, where any variation in the release point is amplified relative to the total travel.
This right-hand version fits the Remington 700 footprint and is also compatible with cock-on-close actions, broadening its usefulness beyond the standard 700 pattern. Installation is drop-in, requiring no gunsmithing or permanent modification to the action. One trade-off to note: the Rough Diamond does not include a bolt release, so shooters who rely on a trigger-integrated bolt release for their manual of arms will need to account for that before purchasing. The trigger shoe on this variant is a Pro Curved profile, which positions the finger pad lower on the bow for a consistent trigger finger placement under competition conditions.
