Description

The YHM sRx Short Muzzle Brake is built for shooters who want a functional suppressor-ready muzzle device that stays out of the way. Its primary role is as the barrel-side half of YHM’s sRx quick-detach mounting system, which means it needs to be paired with the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400) to attach a suppressor — the brake alone does not function as a standalone mount. That pairing is what makes the system work: the adapter carries the industry-standard 1-3/8″ x 24 hub threads that most YHM suppressors index to, while this brake handles the barrel attachment and the mechanical interface between the two.

The mounting geometry here matters. An internal taper seat ahead of the threads draws the suppressor into alignment under tension rather than relying on thread engagement alone for concentricity. That means no shimming or timing to the barrel, and consistent positioning every time the suppressor goes on or comes off. The taper also forms a seal that keeps carbon out of the threads, which is a practical maintenance consideration on a high-round-count host.

The 5/8″-32 thread pitch makes this variant the correct choice for .308 and 7.62 NATO barrels threaded to that standard. The brake is machined from 4140 steel and finished in Black Oxide, keeping weight low while holding up to heat and round count. At under two inches of overall length, it adds minimal profile to the muzzle — relevant when the entire point of the sRx system is a low-profile suppressor setup that doesn’t telegraph its presence.
