The LWRC IC-DI in .300 AAC Blackout is built for shooters who want a reliable direct-impingement AR-pattern rifle in a caliber that transitions cleanly between supersonic hunting loads and subsonic suppressed use. Where LWRC’s piston-driven IC series handles the gas cycle mechanically, the IC-DI routes propellant gas directly back through the carrier key — a design that keeps the reciprocating mass lighter and the trigger feel more predictable for precision-oriented work, at the cost of running somewhat dirtier over extended strings of fire.

The 1:7″ twist is on the faster end of what .300 Blackout barrels commonly run, which stabilizes the heavier subsonic projectiles — typically 200 to 220 grains — that would tumble or keyhole through a slower bore. Shooters running supersonic loads in the 110–125 grain range will find the same twist rate stabilizes those well, so the rifle doesn’t require a barrel swap when switching ammunition types.

The M-LOK free-float handguard keeps the barrel isolated from any forward-hand pressure, which matters when accuracy across a cold and warm bore is being compared. Fully ambidextrous lower controls mean the rifle can be manipulated from either shoulder without reaching across the receiver. The LWRC Compact Adjustable Stock and a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle give the rifle a practical range of configurations without needing to replace major components. One 30-round magazine is included.
