Description
The LWRC IC DI is built for shooters who want LWRCI’s manufacturing standards and engineering approach in a direct impingement platform. It suits the serious recreational shooter or duty user who prefers the lighter reciprocating mass and reduced bolt carrier weight of a DI system over a piston arrangement, accepting a trade-off in carbon management for a slightly softer recoil impulse at the shooter’s shoulder.
The 1:7 right-hand twist rifling stabilizes the full range of 5.56 NATO projectiles, from 55-grain through 77-grain match bullets, without the over-stabilization concerns that can affect accuracy with very light projectiles at longer ranges. Muzzle threads are cut at 1/2×28 TPI, the standard pitch for 5.56 suppressors and muzzle devices, so the installed A2 birdcage flash hider can be swapped without adapters for most accessories on the market.
The free-float M-LOK handguard removes the barrel from any contact with the forend, so sling tension, bipod pressure, or a supported rest position does not shift the barrel’s harmonics and pull shots off point of aim. The monoforged upper receiver is machined as a single piece rather than assembled from separate rail sections, which eliminates the potential for flex at rail-to-receiver junctions under load. Fully ambidextrous lower controls — magazine release, bolt catch and release, and fire selector — are functional from either side without replacement parts or adapters. The LWRCI adjustable compact stock provides length-of-pull adjustment, and the Magpul MOE+ grip rounds out the control package. The Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish is applied over the complete rifle, giving the metal surfaces corrosion resistance without adding meaningful dimension to the toleranced areas of the action.
