Description

The LWRC IC-DI is built for shooters who want LWRC’s engineering and ambidextrous platform in a direct-impingement configuration. It suits anyone coming from a standard AR-15 who wants a meaningful upgrade in fit and finish without moving to a piston system, or an LWRC IC owner who wants a lower-cost upper that swaps directly onto the same ambi lower.

The bolt carrier group uses a keyless design, meaning the cam pin is retained without a traditional key staked to the carrier. That reduces a point of wear and simplifies detail cleaning. The barrel is cold hammer forged, a process that work-hardens the bore surface as it forms it, which contributes to bore life under sustained fire. A 1-in-7 inch twist rate stabilizes heavier projectiles reliably — 62-grain and 77-grain loads seat well here — but it will also handle standard 55-grain ball without issue.

The handguard is a one-piece free-float M-LOK rail, so barrel harmonics are isolated from any pressure you put on the forend, and M-LOK slots run along the full perimeter for mounting lights, lasers, or a hand stop without adding bulk where you don’t need it. The lower receiver carries fully ambidextrous controls — magazine release, bolt catch, and selector — so left-handed shooters get the same manipulations as right-handed ones without adapters. The LWRC Compact Adjustable Stock and Magpul MOE+ grip come standard. Muzzle threads are cut 1/2×28, the standard pitch for .223/5.56 muzzle devices. The ODG Cerakote finish resists corrosion and abrasion without the maintenance demands of a blued surface.
