Description
The GBRS Group Hydra V2 Mount Kit is built for shooters who run both a primary optic and a night vision device, solving the problem of having to choose one or the other in mixed-light environments. This variant is fitted for the EOTech EXPS series and finished in Cerakote Flat Dark Earth, and it mounts to a standard Picatinny rail to hold the EXPS at a fixed, repeatable position while integrating a second mounting interface for a clip-on or helmet-mounted NVD ahead of the optic.
The core trade-off this system addresses is height versus capability. A standard low mount puts the optic close to the bore and works fine in daylight, but it leaves no room to insert a clip-on night vision device between the objective and the rail. The Hydra V2 raises the EXPS to a height that accommodates that device without requiring the shooter to dismount, re-zero, or reconfigure anything between day and night use. The optic stays on the rifle; the sight picture stays consistent.
Machined from aluminum and given a Cerakote finish, the mount is built to handle the mechanical and environmental stress of field use without adding unnecessary weight to the front end. The FDE Cerakote also provides corrosion resistance and a matte surface that reduces reflectivity in the field. For a shooter already running an EXPS and looking to add a night vision capability without rebuilding their entire optic setup, this mount removes the primary obstacle between their current configuration and a functional dual-optic system.
