Description
The ALG Defense Forged Sling Swivel is built for shooters who want a reliable quick-detach attachment point without adding meaningful weight to their rifle. Forged from 7075-T6 aluminum — the same alloy and process used to produce mil-spec upper and lower receivers — the swivel achieves a balance between structural integrity and mass that a cast or machined steel counterpart simply cannot match at comparable weight. The result is a swivel that comes in at roughly half an ounce, about half the weight of a similar steel QD assembly, without sacrificing the rigidity the platform demands.
The push-button quick-detach mechanism seats into any standard QD socket, so it drops straight onto existing sling mounts, stocks, and handguard attachments without adapter work. When you need to detach the sling under stress, the release is a single deliberate press rather than a tool-dependent operation. The loop is sized for one-inch slings, covering the most common single- and two-point sling configurations in current use. Pull strength is rated to 800 pounds, which means the limiting factor in a retention scenario will be the sling or the socket hardware before it is the swivel itself.
The Desert Dirt Color finish gives the swivel a flat, low-glare appearance that suits tan and FDE-configured builds without standing out against either. For anyone running a lightweight carbine build where every gram is deliberate, or simply replacing a heavier steel swivel on an existing rifle, the Forged Sling Swivel does the job without compromise.
