Description
The AD-RECON-SL is American Defense Manufacturing’s lowest-profile 34mm scope mount, designed for shooters who need a high-magnification optic sitting as close to the bore axis as possible on a flat-top AR-15 or bolt-action rifle. Because the rings sit low, there is no forward offset engineered into the design — eye relief is determined entirely by where you position the scope in the rings, so proper fit depends on careful ring placement during setup. That low seating position also means the mount is not compatible with objective lenses larger than 56mm; the bell will contact the upper receiver or handguard before the rings can close properly.
The body is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in hard coat Type 3 Mil-Spec anodize, which produces a surface hard enough to resist the abrasion and solvent exposure a working rifle sees over time. The clamping lever is titanium, which matters because the QD Auto Lock system relies on the lever’s spring tension to self-adjust across both in-spec and out-of-spec Picatinny rails. That adjustability removes the need for a torque wrench during installation — the lever can be tuned with a fingertip or a flat-blade screwdriver, and it can be configured to lock facing either forward or rearward depending on your preference. The split-ring design and the dual QD attachment points allow the mount to be removed and reinstalled while reliably returning to zero. American Defense Manufacturing covers this mount under a lifetime warranty, and it is made in the United States.
