Description

The American Defense Manufacturing AD-Recon is a cantilever scope mount built for flat-top AR-platform rifles where the shooter needs to push the optic forward to achieve proper eye relief without adding a separate riser or extension. Rather than stacking components, the cantilever geometry accomplishes that offset in a single machined piece, which keeps the overall assembly lower in profile and eliminates an interface that could introduce slop over time.

The mount is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in a T3 mil-spec anodize, the same specification used on military hardware. That anodize standard is harder and more uniform than a basic commercial coat, which matters when the mount is being cycled on and off a rail repeatedly. The QD Auto Lock lever is what makes that cycling practical: the lever indexes and locks without requiring a torque wrench or tools, and it returns to the same position each time so zero holds across removal and reinstallation.

This specific variant uses the Tactical lever configuration. Where a standard lever requires a deliberate two-handed motion to release, the Tactical lever is shaped and positioned to allow one-handed operation, which is useful when transitioning between platforms or breaking down a kit quickly. The 30mm tube diameter ring fits the most common objective-side tube diameter found on full-size riflescopes, making this a practical choice for a wide range of glass without needing shims or adapters.
