Description

The American Defense Manufacturing AD-Recon is a one-piece cantilever scope mount built for shooters who need to pull an optic off a rifle and put it back without touching zero. That capability matters most on a dedicated thermal or high-powered glass setup that moves between platforms, or any rifle where confirmed return-to-zero is more than a convenience.

The mount is designed around a Picatinny rail interface and uses a 2-inch cantilever offset to push the scope forward, which gives you the eye relief a longer tube or a cheek-welded position on a flat-top AR demands. That extra forward throw is not cosmetic — without it, many variable power scopes simply cannot be positioned correctly on a standard flat-top receiver.

The quick-detach mechanism is ADM’s patented QD Auto Lock system. Rather than relying on a torque wrench or a set screw, the lever clamps down with consistent force each time and is adjustable by hand or with a flat-blade screwdriver — no proprietary tooling. The lever itself can be oriented to lock toward the front or the rear depending on your setup. The clamp is also designed to accommodate both in-spec and out-of-spec rails, so minor dimensional variation in the rail won’t cause inconsistent seating.

Construction is CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard coat Mil-Spec anodized finish, which provides corrosion resistance and a surface hardness suited to field handling. This variant accepts 30mm scope tubes and comes with the standard lever configuration. ADM backs it with a lifetime warranty and manufactures it in the United States.
