Description

The Arsenal SM-13 is a side-rail scope mount designed for AK-pattern rifles, built to address one of the platform’s persistent challenges: finding a stable, repeatable optic attachment point. Top-cover and gas-tube mounts shift under recoil and rarely return to the same position after removal. The SM-13 sidesteps that problem entirely by clamping to the AK’s side scope rail, which is machined into the receiver itself and moves with nothing. That single design decision is what makes zero retention possible after the mount is detached and reattached.

Arsenal machined the SM-13 from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum and finished it with a hard anodize coat, which resists abrasion and corrosion without adding paint buildup that could affect fit. The steel adjustable locking mechanism includes a tension-adjustable quick-release lever, so the mount can be removed and reinstalled without tools and without drifting off zero. The 19-slot Picatinny rail runs over 7.5 inches, long enough to run a magnified optic at the rear and a secondary device forward simultaneously, or to dial in eye relief precisely for a single optic. The low-profile geometry keeps the rail close to the receiver’s contour, and a relief cut along the rail’s length leaves the iron sights accessible when the mount is in place — useful when glass is not the right tool for a given situation. Each mount is engraved with Arsenal’s CAGE code, reflecting the SM-13’s origin as a product built to satisfy a formal military procurement requirement before it was made available commercially.
