Description
The B5 Systems SOPMOD stock is a mil-spec collapsible buttstock for AR-15 platform rifles, developed under contract requirements for Special Operations use and built to the same material and finish standards those contracts specify. It suits shooters who want a no-compromise working stock rather than a lightweight minimalist option — the construction is solid, the hardware is steel throughout, and the fit on mil-spec receiver extensions is consistent without play or wobble.
The cheek weld is shaped to place your face in a repeatable position shot to shot, which matters more than it sounds when you are transitioning between targets or shooting from awkward positions. Hardware is color-matched and steel, not plastic, so the points most likely to take abuse — sling mounts, the stock latch — are not the weak links. The QD sling mounts are overmolded steel with an anti-rotational design, meaning the mount itself cannot spin in the socket under load, which keeps your sling attachment from shifting during movement. Fixed sling mounts give you a passive loop option if you prefer that over a QD swivel. The butt pad is cushioned and textured to resist migration against a shoulder pocket, particularly useful in lighter clothing where a slick pad tends to creep. The stock latch uses B5’s Suregrip geometry, which gives you a positive grip point for position changes without having to hunt for it under gloves. Two internal storage compartments are built into the body for batteries or small kit. Finished in Coyote Brown with color-matched hardware throughout.
