The barrel’s 1:7.5-inch twist rate is on the faster end for a quarter-bore, which stabilizes the longer, heavier 25-caliber projectiles that deliver the best long-range performance from this cartridge — so handloaders and ammunition buyers should prioritize heavier, high-BC loads to take full advantage of it. The 20-inch fluted, threaded steel barrel gives up nothing meaningful in velocity compared to longer tubes while keeping overall length manageable in dense terrain.
