Description
The Bergara B-14 Crest is built for backcountry hunters who need a rifle light enough to carry hard miles but precise enough to matter at distance. It sits in Bergara’s Premier Series and is chambered in 25 Creedmoor, a cartridge that pushes small-diameter, high-BC bullets at velocities that flatten trajectory and extend the practical range of a hunting rifle without the recoil of larger magnums.
The barrel’s 1:7.5-inch twist rate is on the faster end for a quarter-bore, which stabilizes the longer, heavier 25-caliber projectiles that deliver the best long-range performance from this cartridge — so handloaders and ammunition buyers should prioritize heavier, high-BC loads to take full advantage of it. The 20-inch fluted, threaded steel barrel gives up nothing meaningful in velocity compared to longer tubes while keeping overall length manageable in dense terrain. Fluting removes material along the barrel’s length, reducing weight without compromising rigidity, and the threading at the muzzle accommodates the included Omni muzzle brake, which redirects propellant gases to reduce both muzzle rise and felt recoil — a meaningful benefit when shooting a fast, flat-shooting cartridge over a full day of glassing and repositioning.
The stock is a fixed carbon fiber unit with black and gray sponge accents in a Sniper Gray Cerakote finish, and it accepts LOP spacers so the length of pull can be adjusted to fit the shooter rather than the other way around. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and no iron sights are installed — this rifle is designed from the start around an optic. The Bergara Performance trigger and two-position safety round out a platform that asks the shooter to add glass and get to work.
