The Banshee Mk4 is built around the standard AR-platform lower paired with a compact upper, making it a natural fit for shooters who want a 5.56 NATO build in a short-barreled configuration without departing from familiar AR controls and magazine compatibility. It accepts standard STANAG magazines and ships with one 30-round magazine, so existing AR magazine stocks carry over without any adaptation.

The carbine-length gas system on a 10.5-inch barrel runs at higher pressure than a mid-length arrangement would on a longer tube, which tends to produce a sharper, more abrupt recoil impulse. CMMG addresses this with a linear muzzle device on the 1/2-28 threaded muzzle, which redirects blast and gas forward rather than venting it to the sides — a practical choice at short barrel lengths where concussive effect at the shooter’s position is more pronounced. The handguard is CMMG’s EML9 M-Lok design, which keeps the profile slim for easier grip while offering attachment points along multiple positions for lights, lasers, or other accessories without adding fixed rail weight.

The upper and lower are finished in Cerakote Midnight Bronze, a coating chosen for its corrosion and abrasion resistance rather than for appearance alone. The ambidextrous safety selector means the control layout works without modification for left-handed shooters. The pistol ships optics-ready with a Picatinny-compatible top rail and no fixed sights, which is the correct starting point for a build intended to run a red dot or magnified optic from the outset. The RIP brace from CMMG rounds out the package as the rear support option.
