Description

The CMMG Dissent MK4 is built for shooters who want a genuinely compact .300 Blackout platform without the compromises that typically come with shortening a conventional AR. The central design decision here is the elimination of the buffer tube entirely: CMMG replaces the standard AR-15 recoil system with an internal mechanism that allows the action to function with a folding brace or stock attached to the 1913 Picatinny rail end plate at the rear. That single change opens up storage and transport options that a buffer-dependent AR simply cannot match.

The 10.5-inch barrel is a natural fit for .300 Blackout because the cartridge was engineered around short barrels from the start — most of its powder burns in far less length than, say, 5.56 NATO requires. A 1:7-inch twist handles both supersonic and heavier subsonic projectiles without needing to swap components. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, the correct pitch for .30-caliber suppressors and muzzle devices, and CMMG ships the pistol with their Zeroed Linear Compensator already installed. An adjustable gas block lets you tune dwell time and impulse when switching between supersonic and subsonic loads — a meaningful feature on a suppressor-ready build rather than a cosmetic one.

The TriggerTech AR-D two-stage trigger was developed specifically for the Dissent platform. With a 4-pound pull and a clean break, it performs well above what you would expect from a factory-included component. The receiver and handguard are 7075-T6 aluminum, the 9.6-inch M-LOK free-float rail keeps the barrel unencumbered, and the Armor Black Cerakote finish offers corrosion protection with a matte appearance that does not draw light. Two 30-round magazines are included.
