Description
The DISSENT Mk47 is built for shooters who want the 7.62x39mm cartridge in a platform that folds compactly without sacrificing a full-length stock when deployed. The key to that capability is CMMG’s compact action, which relocates the recoil management hardware forward and eliminates the conventional buffer tube entirely. Without a buffer tube running rearward, the side-folding DISSENT stock has nothing to conflict with—it folds, locks, and deploys without affecting function.
Rather than a long-stroke piston or a standard carbine direct-impingement layout, the system uses a mid-length gas port in a direct-impingement arrangement. Mid-length dwell time stretches the impulse curve compared to a carbine-length port, reducing the sharpness of the felt recoil cycle. The adjustable gas block extends that flexibility further: dialing down the gas volume when running a suppressor prevents the over-gassing that typically makes suppressed 7.62x39mm rifles noticeably harder on the action and the shooter.
The 1:10″ twist rate is well-matched to the range of standard 7.62x39mm projectile weights—roughly 120 to 125 grains—without being optimized so tightly that it penalizes heavier or lighter loads. The forward-mounted, non-reciprocating side charging handle keeps the shooter’s firing grip in place during manipulations, and it can be swapped to either side to suit the operator. Receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, and the 15″ M-LOK handguard provides continuous real estate for lights, bipods, and other accessories along the full length of the barrel. Two 30-round Magpul PMAGs ship with the rifle. The Tungsten Cerakote finish is the specific color of this variant.
