The EXPS3-DCR is built around a purpose-designed reticle — the Danger Close Reticle — that addresses a real limitation of traditional holographic sights in close-quarters use. Where a full 68 MOA ring can crowd the sight picture at short distances, the DCR opens things up by removing the top and bottom arcs of the ring, leaving a half-circle frame and adding a chevron at the bottom. That chevron gives you a dedicated 7-yard aiming point when the rifle is zeroed at 50 yards, while the 1 MOA center dot handles work out to 200 yards. You get three practical aiming references from a single zero — useful in any environment where distances shift quickly.

The EXPS form factor keeps both controls and battery access on one side, which matters when the sight sits in front of a magnifier or when riser space is tight. A 7mm raised quick-detach base positions the optic for lower one-third co-witness with standard iron sights, so your zero reference doesn’t disappear if the optic comes off the gun. Night vision compatibility covers Gen I through Gen III+ devices across ten dedicated NV brightness settings, and the remaining twenty settings handle daylight conditions. A single CR123A lithium battery powers the unit for up to 1,000 hours at a mid-level setting — a practical consideration for a sight you might leave on for extended periods.
