Description

The Geissele Super Precision mount in this configuration is purpose-built for shooters pairing a Vortex 1-6x optic with an AR-15 or M4 platform. Rather than a general-purpose ring set, Geissele engineered the cap placement and ring spacing specifically around the body dimensions of that scope family, which means the caps land on the tube in the right locations to clear the magnification ring and eyepiece without compromising the clamping surface. That kind of scope-specific geometry is what separates a mount that simply holds a scope from one that holds it well.

The entire mount is machined from a single billet of 7075-T6 aluminum. Starting from one piece lets Geissele cut pockets and ribs into the structure for rigidity without adding weight through bonded or pinned assemblies, and it allows the ring caps to be line-bored together with the body. Line boring after assembly means the bore of each cap is concentric with the other and matched to the body — the caps are then serialized to their specific body so that fit is preserved through any disassembly. Applying correct torque to a line-bored mount does not risk distorting the scope tube.

Clamping uses an updated nut-and-bolt arrangement rather than a lever system. The mounting surface spans seven Picatinny sections and uses four shear lugs to distribute stress. Each fastener pair delivers 1,400 pounds of clamping force, and the multi-section footprint resists rotational movement under recoil. The mount is SOPMOD certified, meaning it has been validated for use by U.S. Special Operations Command units. The finish is a Type III hard coat anodize in black.
