Description
The Lantac Dragon DGN9MMD-WM is a muzzle brake built for shooters running 9mm pistol-caliber carbines or AR-9 platforms who also want a direct path to running a Dead Air Wolfman suppressor without swapping out hardware. It combines active recoil management with the Dead Air KeyMo quick-attach interface, so the same brake that controls unsuppressed fire also serves as the mounting point for the Wolfman can.
The core of the Dragon’s recoil-reduction approach is Lantac’s patented Short Energy Pulse system. Rather than simply redirecting gas to push the muzzle down, the design shortens the duration of the recoil impulse itself. When recoil pulses are longer, they can overlap during rapid fire and compound the displacement the shooter has to recover from. Cutting impulse duration keeps each shot’s push discrete, which means the shooter’s natural return to target happens before the next round fires rather than while trying to correct for accumulated movement.
The body is machined from AISI 4150 steel on Swiss lathes, then hardened to 48–52 Rc and finished with QPQ nitride to AMS2753D standards. That process creates a surface that resists the carbon fouling and heat cycling that muzzle devices take at the gas exit point. Each unit is serial numbered and ships with a timing shim set for precise clocking on the barrel. Thread pitch is 1/2-28 UNEF right-hand, standard for 9mm carbine barrels. The KeyMo mount design is fully licensed from Dead Air, meaning the Wolfman’s warranty is unaffected when used with this brake. Made in the USA.
