Description
The LWRC IC DI in .300 AAC Blackout is built around a direct impingement operating system housed in the same Monoforge upper receiver architecture that LWRC uses across its piston-driven IC family. That shared platform matters because the ambi lower is fully interchangeable with other IC uppers, giving an owner a practical path to convert between operating systems without replacing the entire firearm.
The cold hammer forged barrel receives a Ni-Corr treatment, a nickel-phosphate surface conversion that addresses bore corrosion and carbon adhesion — both concerns that come up more frequently with .300 Blackout because subsonic loads run cooler and deposit more unburned carbon than typical rifle cartridges. The 1-in-7 twist rate stabilizes the full weight range the cartridge sees in practice, from light supersonic projectiles at the fast end through heavy subsonic bullets that need a fast twist to remain stable at reduced velocity. Shooters running both load types through the same barrel will find the twist rate was chosen with that flexibility in mind.
The barrel is threaded 1/2×28, the standard pattern for .300 Blackout, which keeps suppressor and muzzle device options broad. The M-LOK free-float handguard keeps the barrel free of stock-induced pressure while offering a low-profile mounting surface for accessories. The SBA3 pistol brace adjusts for length of pull, which is useful at 10.5 inches of barrel where a compact overall package is the point. Controls are fully ambidextrous, consistent with the rest of the IC line. The firearm ships with one 30-round magazine.
