Description
The Magpul MBUS Pro Rear Sight is built for shooters who run a primary optic but refuse to treat their backup as an afterthought. Where polymer flip-up sights are adequate, this one is made entirely from steel — finished with a QPQ salt bath nitride process that hardens the surface and resists corrosion without the fuss of periodic re-oiling. If your optic fails in a wet or dirty environment, a sight that can handle the same conditions matters.
Deploying and stowing takes one hand and no tools. Positive detents lock the sight firmly in both positions, so it won’t creep under recoil or snag during a hasty mount. The same detent system applies to the windage knob, which means adjustments you dial in stay put. Windage itself is adjustable without tools — useful if you’re zeroing on the range without a multi-tool on your belt.
The flip-up aperture window gives you two distinct options: a wider opening for close-range or low-light work where fast target acquisition matters more than precision, and a narrower aperture for longer distances where the tighter sight picture pays off. This isn’t a toggle between good and better — each setting reflects a genuine trade-off between speed and precision that a fixed-aperture sight forces you to compromise on.
When stowed, the sight sits low enough to clear most optics and accessories without interference. At standard AR sight height when deployed, it co-witnesses predictably with common optic heights. The footprint along the rail is compact, leaving room for other accessories. Made in the USA.
