Shooters with larger hands have long had to compromise on AR-platform grip geometry, accepting a fit that was never quite right. The Magpul MOE K2-XL in Olive Drab Green was designed specifically to close that gap. It scales up the proven MOE K2 form by roughly 25 percent, giving bigger hands room to settle into a consistent firing position rather than crowding fingers together and introducing unwanted tension into the trigger pull.

The grip angle is more vertical than a traditional AR grip, which matters most on rifles with a shorter length of pull, where the primary hand is drawn in closer to the body. That geometry naturally aligns the wrist, reducing the forearm strain that accumulates over a long range session and helping keep the trigger finger indexed at the same point shot after shot. For precision work in particular, proper finger placement is a repeatable mechanical advantage, not just a comfort preference.

Surface texture on the K2-XL uses Magpul’s Trapezoidal Surface Projections, a pattern of raised geometric features that bite into a gloved or bare hand without the hot-spot irritation that aggressive checkering can cause after extended handling. Front and rear serrations add traction at the contact points where grip pressure is highest. The grip installs as a direct drop-in replacement on standard AR-15 and M4 lower receivers with no modification required, and ships with an XL grip cap, an oil bottle grip core, and the necessary mounting hardware. Note that the proprietary XL cap is not interchangeable with other Magpul grip cores. Built in the U.S.A. from polymer construction.
