MAGPUL MOE SL-K STOCK AR15/M4 ODG

Description

The MOE SL-K is Magpul’s answer to a specific problem: a shooter running a short, compact carbine who still wants a properly fitted, rattle-free stock without adding bulk or complexity. It is a direct drop-in replacement for any AR-15 or M4 with a mil-spec buffer tube, and the design is deliberately scaled down relative to Magpul’s standard MOE SL — shorter overall, narrower in profile, with a smaller rubber buttpad that features a rolled toe so the rifle transitions onto the shoulder quickly rather than snagging on clothing or gear.

The locking mechanism is worth understanding because it works differently than most collapsible stocks. The ambidextrous release latch applies direct friction to the receiver extension to control rattle without relying on supplementary springs, levers, or locking tabs. Fewer moving parts means fewer things to fail or require adjustment in the field. A chrome silicon lock spring handles the retention load. The sloping cheek weld is shaped to position the face consistently and repeatably — useful any time optics are in play and cheek-to-stock contact needs to be the same shot after shot.

Sling attachment is handled by a 1.25-inch footman’s loop built into the stock. For shooters who prefer a push-button quick-detach swivel, the stock is machined to accept Magpul’s M-LOK QD Sling Mount, sold separately, so the attachment hardware can be matched to the rest of the rifle’s sling system rather than locked into a fixed arrangement. The length of pull adjusts across a 3.3-inch range — from roughly 10.3 inches collapsed to roughly 13.6 inches extended — giving the platform real versatility across different shooters, body armor configurations, and shooting positions.
