Description
The MS1 MS4 Adapter from Magpul gives you a practical way to convert a standard MS1 Sling between single-point and two-point carry without swapping out the sling itself. The adapter adds a push-button QD sling swivel and a steel connection ring to the MS1’s existing attachment points, so transitioning between configurations is a matter of seconds rather than a teardown. To complete the setup you need one additional QD sling swivel, which plugs into whatever QD socket is on your rifle.
The hardware is steel finished in Melonite and manganese phosphate — two treatments chosen for corrosion resistance and durability under hard use rather than appearance. The 1.25-inch nylon webbing carries a near-infrared treatment that reduces the sling’s IR signature, which matters in environments where night vision or thermal equipment is in play. Both finishes are Magpul’s own terminology for what is on this specific part.
The mechanical trade-off worth understanding here is that a single-point configuration keeps the rifle close to the body during close-quarters movement but offers less control when the weapon is stowed and you need both hands free. Two-point carry solves that problem by distributing weight across the chest and locking the rifle’s position against your body. This adapter lets you move between both without carrying two slings or making a permanent modification to your setup. It installs in a few minutes and is compatible with any rifle equipped with a QD sling swivel socket.
