Description
The Magpul MS1 QDM is a dedicated two-point rifle sling built around the MS1 Slider, a low-profile adjuster that lets you lengthen or shorten the sling with one hand and without introducing loose tails, dangling loops, or anything that could snag on gear or vegetation. That matters in practical use: a sling you can quietly and quickly size to a shooting position is worth reaching for; one you have to fight with isn’t.
Where this version steps beyond the standard MS1 is in its attachment hardware. Instead of conventional push-button swivels, it ships with factory-installed Magpul QDM quick-disconnect swivels already on the sling. The QDM is finished in Melonite-treated steel, which resists corrosion and surface wear well beyond what bare or blued steel would tolerate in wet or sandy field conditions. The rotating bale is engineered to keep the webbing aligned in a consistent channel, so the strap stays flat against the rifle and doesn’t roll or twist under load.
The webbing itself is a proprietary 1.25-inch-wide nylon construction with a tubular weave. That geometry distributes pressure across a wider contact patch on the shoulder compared to flat webbing of the same width, reducing fatigue during extended carries. The nylon also carries a Near Infrared treatment to lower IR signature—relevant to anyone running night-vision equipment or operating in environments where IR discipline matters.
For those who occasionally need one-point configuration, the MS1 QDM accepts adapters from the MS3 and MS4 Sling systems, sold separately. The hardware—slider and buckle—is reinforced engineering polymer, keeping weight down without sacrificing the structural load the sling is designed to bear. Made in the U.S.A. and Berry Amendment compliant.
