Description
The Magpul QDM is a purpose-built upgrade for shooters who find standard push-button quick-detach swivels too prone to accidental release or inadequate for heavier sling loads. Where a conventional single-button QD can disengage with an incidental snag, the QDM requires both side release tabs to be pinched simultaneously — a deliberate two-point activation that eliminates unintentional disconnection without meaningfully slowing a deliberate one-handed detach.
The high-strength bale is designed to rotate freely around its axis, which allows the sling to track with your movement rather than binding and twisting under load. The bale profile also canalizes the webbing, keeping it seated and preventing rollover that can cause a sling to shift or bind during transitions. It accepts webbing up to 1-¼” wide, making it compatible with most serious two-point slings on the market, including Magpul’s own MS1 and MS4 configurations.
The QPQ salt bath nitride finish — Magpul calls it QPQ — provides corrosion resistance that holds up in wet environments where bare steel hardware would eventually pit or seize. The QDM seats into standard QD cups and sockets, including those in Magpul’s own Type 1 and Type 2 QD socket kits and factory sockets on Magpul stocks, so it drops into an existing setup without adapter hardware. Manufactured in the USA.
