Description

The Magpul RLS is a two-point sling built around a concept borrowed from both Rhodesian and 1907 match-style slings, combining the utility of a carry strap with the stability of a shooting loop. That pairing makes it genuinely useful on a working rifle rather than serving only one role or the other.

The foundation of the design is Magpul’s proprietary nylon mesh webbing, which uses a tubular construction rather than flat woven material. Tubular webbing has no hard edges to press into your neck or shoulder under load, and the double-layer structure adds a degree of cushioning without requiring separate padding. At 1.25 inches wide, the webbing is compatible with Magpul’s own 1.25-inch sling accessories as well as most third-party hardware in that size.

Hardware is injection-molded polymer throughout, kept light and reinforced where stress concentrates. The adjustable forward loop lets the shooter tension the sling against the rifle for a supported shooting position, effectively turning the sling into a stabilizing aid for precision work at field ranges. A proprietary keeper manages the slack end of the webbing, so there are no loose tails to catch on gear or create noise during movement.

The webbing receives NIR treatment to reduce its infrared signature, a detail that matters in low-light and night-vision environments where untreated synthetic materials can stand out distinctly. For general-purpose use this is a quiet feature, but it reflects a construction standard consistent across the rest of the design rather than representing a compromise made elsewhere to hit a price point.
