Description
The Reptilia CQG-NB is a pistol grip built around one specific ergonomic premise: placing your hand higher on the frame than a standard A2 grip allows, which tightens your purchase on the controls and reduces the effort needed to maintain a consistent hold under movement or fatigue. The geometry is deliberately more vertical than a conventional grip, which suits shooters running AR pistols, pistol-caliber carbines, and short-barreled configurations where the weapon is often held and manipulated at closer distances and more dynamic angles.
The NB designation stands for No Beavertail. Where the standard CQG extends upward into the thumb web area to fill the gap between grip and lower receiver, the CQG-NB removes that extension entirely. The result is a profile that sits closer to the feel of a mil-spec A2 grip in that region — useful for shooters who find the beavertail either mechanically intrusive with certain lower receivers or simply prefer the more open feel. The underlying grip geometry, texture pattern, and hand-positioning intent carry over unchanged from the standard CQG.
Anti-slip texture runs across both the front and rear of the grip body, giving the shooting hand something to index against without requiring a deliberate grip-tightening effort. The grip is constructed from toughened and reinforced nylon, which keeps weight down and resists the kind of impact and temperature cycling that polymer accessories encounter in field use. It is made in the United States and fits AR-15, AR-10, SR-25, Sig Sauer MCX, and FN SCAR-16 and SCAR-17 platforms, along with other lower receivers that accept a standard AR-15 pistol grip. The finish is Reptilia’s FDE.
