Description
The 3 Primal 3-15×44 LW is built for hunters who carry their rifle farther than most people drive to their stand. The guiding principle behind it is a straightforward trade-off: where a heavier scope might offer a larger objective or an illuminated reticle, this one prioritizes keeping weight off a backcountry setup without stripping out the optical quality or mechanical durability that a long pack-in demands.
The second focal plane placement means the XRP reticle subtensions are calibrated at maximum magnification. Dial it to 15x for a precision shot at distance and the holdover marks work exactly as designed; run it at lower power for close cover and the reticle stays smaller and less cluttered, which is useful, though the holdover values will read large relative to the target until you account for the power setting. That is the practical reality of SFP, and for most hunting applications where the shot is taken at a consistent, dialed magnification, it is a sensible choice.
The tube is machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum using a CNC one-piece process, then finished with a Type III Hard Coat Anodize. That combination resists corrosion and surface wear through repeated field use. Nitrogen purging keeps internal fogging from condensation out of the equation regardless of temperature swings between a cold morning and a warm pack-out. The optics are fully multi-coated across all air-to-glass surfaces, which helps retain light transmission during the low-angle shooting light of early morning and late evening when most hunts actually come together. Riton rates this scope impact-resistant to 1,200 Gs and approves it for airgun use, which speaks to its tolerance for sharp recoil impulses. It ships with the Riton Limited Lifetime Warranty.
