Description
The Riton by Contessa 34mm Picatinny QD Mount is built for shooters who need a repeatable, dependable optic platform on a Picatinny-railed rifle — whether that means moving between rifles, packing a scope out of the field, or simply protecting a glass investment when transport demands it. The partnership between Riton and Contessa brings Italian precision machining to a mount that earns its place on a working rifle rather than just looking the part on one.
Construction is hardened steel throughout. That choice adds weight compared to aluminum alternatives, but hardened steel resists the kind of stress concentrations that deform softer materials at the interface between mount and rail — the area where zero lives. For shooters who engage targets at distance, that mechanical consistency is not a luxury.
The 20 MOA of built-in cant is the mount’s most consequential design decision. By tilting the scope forward relative to the bore, it shifts the usable adjustment range of the scope’s internal erector toward center, where tracking is most linear and reliable. The practical result is more usable elevation adjustment at long range without chasing the edges of the erector’s travel. This makes the mount particularly well suited to precision rifle work where shooters are dialing significant correction rather than holding off.
The quick-detach system allows the mount and optic to be removed and reinstalled on the same rail without returning to zero — an important distinction from mounts that require re-zeroing after every removal. The 34mm ring diameter accommodates the larger tube profiles common on modern long-range and tactical scopes.
