Description
The ROMEO-MSR Gen II is built for modern sporting rifles, carbines, shotguns, and air rifles — any platform where a compact, sealed red dot makes sense and extra weight does not. It suits shooters who want a straightforward optic that mounts, holds zero, and stays out of the way.
The Gen II was redesigned from the previous ROMEO-MSR rather than revised in small increments, and the difference shows in the riser mount. The see-through riser is designed to allow co-witnessing with iron sights, so if the dot goes dark you have a usable backup without removing the optic or changing your cheek weld. That geometry matters on a rifle that may see hard use.
Brightness is controlled by a side-mounted analog rotary dial with ten daytime settings and two dedicated night vision positions. An analog dial rather than push-button cycling means you can set brightness by feel without taking your eyes off the target area, and the night vision positions drop output low enough to pair with image-intensification devices without washing out the tube. The optic is rated IPX-7 waterproof, meaning it is sealed against submersion rather than just splash resistance, which matters if the rifle is going to work in weather rather than just around it. The lens system uses Spectracoat, Lensarmor, and Lenshield coatings, which address light transmission, scratch resistance, and external contamination in that order. Battery life runs on a single CR2032, a cell that is easy to source and carry as a spare.
